THE POSITION

As a Trainee Superintendent, you play an essential role in preparing and executing diverse dredging projects. Over the course of 18 months, you’ll rotate across three positions: one in the office and two on project. This structured approach ensures you gain comprehensive insights into our operations and the department. In this way, you’re not only approving Van Oord. You’re also working on your own skills, gaining experience and growing your professional career.

YOUR IMPACT

You will contribute directly to the success of Van Oord’s projects by joining innovative engineering and construction solutions while ensuring practical, on-the-ground implementation. Your role will focus on executing projects with an emphasis on operational efficiency, quality, and sustainability.

Participate in the preparation and execution phases of projects, such as land reclamation and port construction.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet objectives efficiently and effectively.
Gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge dredging tools and technology.

Your efforts will enhance project outcomes while maintaining safety, innovation, and environmental responsibility.

ABOUT YOU

You have strong collaboration and communication skills. Next to that, we ask the following:

A degree (HBO/WO) in Civil Engineering, Coastal Engineering, or a related discipline.

Demonstrated interest or experience in marine or civil engineering and/or construction.
Excellent organizational and technical abilities.
Willingness to travel and work internationally.
Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.
