THE POSITION

As an HR Advisor for our project office you will play a crucial role in offering comprehensive HR advice and operational support. Your primary responsibility is to ensure timely and compliant execution of HR policies and processes, ensuring our personnel feel seamlessly integrated into the organization.

The Project Office enables project excellence by bringing the best of Van Oord to the projects. Serving as the single window for all Project Management within Van Oord, the Project Office plays a centralized and leading role, connecting and collaborating closely with the Business Units (BU) and other departments. 

The key teams within the Project Office include:

• Pool management and staff planning: Ensuring the availability of high-performance project teams to successfully execute BU projects, both now and in the future
• Internal projects: Ensuring standardized processes and supporting initiatives that help launch projects efficiently
• Tender & Project Support Team: Ensuring a range of project management processes, tools and solutions to ensure that projects are completed on time and on budget

YOUR IMPACT 

Dive into the heart of HR as you handle the complexities of absenteeism, ensuring adherence to both local and international employment conditions. You will be performing operational HR tasks as well as providing advise directly to employees and your colleagues. Additionally, working with the HR Group, you will be part of the implementation of Workday and contribute to our journey towards HR excellence for the upcoming years. 

Furthermore:

• Providing support in employee relations, ensuring all advice aligns with HR policies, standards, and procedures
• Collaborating closely with dedicated managers to support in execution of HR policies, standards and procedures
• Advising on individual employee relations, encompassing areas such as absence, well-being, engagement, complaints, performance issues, disciplinary actions, and personal development.
• Collaborating with the HR team to enhance processes and create an optimal working environment for our employees
• You will proactively support the activities linked to the HR cycle. Additionally, working with the HR Group, you will be part of the implementation of Workday and contribute to our journey towards HR excellence for the upcoming years

YOUR WORKPLACE 

The HR Business team consists of approximately 30 colleagues, working for different departments and business units. You will report to the HR manager of Project Office & Operating Units. Your role extends beyond the office environment – you will occasionally visit projects and/or ships, engage in crucial conversations, and immerse yourself in the maritime environment.

• Relevant diploma (Bachelor's/Master's)
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant HR advisor work experience in a complex international project organization
• Knowledge of employment law
• Fluently in Dutch and English
