Description & Requirements

Do you want to conceive and develop technologically complex Offshore Wind projects? Do you want to contribute to sustainability? After winning a project, you are responsible for figuring out the competitive advantage. How cool is that! This is your role as Production Engineer Offshore wind.

Your impact

As Production Engineer Offshore Wind, you will be responsible for setting up production calculations and working methods for new projects. Mainly these are

technologically complex cable burial projects. You specialise in a wide variety of burial projects that challenge your analytical skills and creativity. You always do this in close cooperation with various other disciplines within the company. The diversity ranges from cable burial in relatively easy geotechnical conditions to highly geologically complex sites, which require customised burial solutions. These cable excavation projects are usually based on in-house trenching machines, but also include other (large) types of equipment available within the fleet. The Offshore Wind division is inherently committed to innovative solutions, leading to Van Oord's competitive advantage. Your goal:

- Support our commercial department and project teams in both the tendering and execution phases by interpreting large amounts of data.
 - Interpreting and analysing the available documents and equipment.
 - Ensuring an efficient, robust, competitive production process in terms of combination of equipment and logistic paths.
 - Prepare and present produced documents to potential customers.
 - After winning a project, going into practice to experience how it is actually implemented.

As icing on the cake, you may occasionally visit projects in progress to advise the project team and ship's crew on maintaining or speeding up progress. During this visit, you will look for innovation and ways to optimise the work process.

Your workplace

The position Production Engineer Offshore Wind will be based in Gorinchem. You will be part of the production team. There is an open and informal atmosphere within the team, where working together and helping each other wherever possible are important values.

About you

You have the desire and interest to further develop yourself as an all-round sparring partner for Tender and Project Managers and Engineers and have the drive to enthusiastically present solutions in discussions with potential Clients. You have strong analytical skills, a creative and solution-oriented approach and the ability to keep ‘the big picture’ in mind and think ahead. In addition, you bring the following:
 - An HBO degree, preferably Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering combined with various dredging subjects;
 - Strong interest in mechanical systems;
 - good ability to work within a (tender) team, but also to work independently
 - investigative, creative and flexible approach to work;
 - experience with estimating and preparing dredging works is an advantage;
 - excellent command of the English language
 - willingness to work on projects all over the world.
