THE POSITION
As HR Business Partner for our Finance & Control (F&C) and Treasury department, you play a key role in shaping the organization for the future. Your focus will be on guiding change, supporting team development and strengthening HR foundations. You have the opportunity to take on exciting projects to build up the technical expertise in Van Oord.
You are a full member of the Finance & Control and Treasury management team and works, act as the business partner for mid-senior managers and communicates with mid-senior management. In this role you are involved in tactical decision-making, support the HR Director, and ensure that people and business priorities align. You functionally report to the HR Director OFE & Supporting Functions and are supported by an HR Advisor and HR Services, but you hold end-to-end responsibility for smooth HR administration within your scope. Furthermore you will hold an hierarchical reporting line to the Group Controller
Your success lies in collaborating with the HR Director, managers and team leads, the HR CoE and HR Operations. You will partner with the respective teams to influence the people and talent agenda to drive business outcomes and goals.
YOUR IMPACT
- Responsible for the co-execution of the HR (people) strategy as well as embedding the Van Oord overall strategy in the department;
- Leads companywide HR projects and is expected to as well act as main point of contact for specific HR processes.
- Provide leadership on specific business-related HR projects and promote the adoption of the HR operating model within the business, ensuring employees and managers feel well-supported by the global HR function;
- Co-develop, initiate and implement HR/ People plans for the F&C department, including the annual HR cycle, ensuring sustainability and relevance by bringing relevant people data and insights/ information; Also contributes to the Strategy and Annual Plan of the F&C department.
- Advise and collaborate on the design and implementation of specific HR programs/projects;
- Plays an important role in ensuring team effectiveness of the F&C MT
- Actively deliver solutions related to F&C workforce, talent, and organizational matters.
YOUR WORKPLACE
In this role as HRBP you are responsible for the Finance & Control and Treasury department that exists out of approximately 300 FTE, most of them based in The Netherlands. Within F&C and Treasury you are part of the Management Team.
The HR partnering team consists of approximately 30 colleagues, working for different departments and business units. You will report to the HR Director OFE & Supporting Functions, working closely with them to influence the F&C and Treasury People agenda, driving business outcomes and goals. Part of your direct HR team are 1 HR Director, 3 HR Business Partners and 2 HR Advisors. For specific knowledge on recruitment, compensation & benefits, etc., we are supported by our Centers of Expertise (CoEs), which you can always consult.
ABOUT YOU
In our quest for a new HR Business Partner to join our team, we are looking for an experienced HR Business professional who is a navigator, approachable and both action- and service-oriented, ready to steer through the challenges of the maritime industry. Your ability to uncover the 'question behind the question' is your compass, showcasing your intuitive understanding of human dynamics. Balancing sensitivity with resilience, you're not afraid to navigate the waters of difficult conversations. Embracing a roll-up-sleeves mentality, you recognize that success often requires hands-on dedication.
- You hold a relevant diploma (bachelor's/master's), preferably in human resources;
- Minimum of 7 years relevant HR business Partnering work experience in a complex international (project) organization;
- Experienced on change management, team effectiveness, tactical and strategic consulting;
- Resilient, not afraid to speak up and constructively challenge others;
- Pro-active, solution minded, both strategic and pragmatic, result driven, DEI aware, ability to work in a matrix organisation;
- Knowledge of Dutch labour legislation and regulations;
- Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
