THE POSITION 

Van Oord is in the process of a digital transformation, using data to monitor and optimise processes at our projects, both during tender and execution phase. All vessels and projects are using the same activity and production reporting systems and need to be supported in various ways to ensure good data quality, meet project and vessel reporting needs and improve the system.

YOUR IMPACT  

As Support Engineer Operations you will be contact point for a team of dedicated support engineers, who are working on data quality checks, creating and maintaining reporting templates and creating and maintaining dedicated, specific BI dashboards. You will be working both in close collaboration with the Production Support Department and project teams on site; to be their point of contact, provide training and support and discuss how to improve the data quality and reporting. Furthermore, you will be in contact with corporate product owners of the ActivityLog and the BI dashboards. 

In this role you will work in the Operations Department of Business Unit Offshore Energy with various tasks: 

  • Communicate with project teams about ActivityLog, reporting and BI dashboards;
  • Lead and relay questions to dedicated support engineers regarding data quality, reporting and dashboarding;
  • Support the users of ActivityLog, reports and dashboards with instructions and trainings;
  • Relay and discuss feedback with the corporate product owner of ActivityLog and BI dashboards;
  • Contributing to the further development of processes and systems and ensuring high data quality.

ABOUT YOU 

  • A bachelor degree in engineering, IT or other relevant fields;
  • Experience with reporting, monitoring and improving data quality;
  • Experience with BI tools and affinity with Excel Power Query;
  • Good command of the English language, spoken and written.
  • Ability to explain (complicated) topics in an understandable way to various stakeholders;
