The position
We are looking for a Transport Coordinator (full-time) for the Procurement & Supply Chain department, located in Rotterdam. In the role of Transport Coordinator, you are responsible for the logistics process to and from our projects and ships via road, sea and air transport. You are the pivot in the logistics process, and this requires a large dose of responsibility, a pro-active attitude and covers a wide range of tasks.
Your impact
The Transport Coordinator that we are looking for is responsible for the coordination of import and export activities with the corresponding transport documents and the mobilisation of project cargo with possible (part-)chartering of vessels.
Furthermore you are responsible for:
- Validation of the shipping invoices based on data such as ECCNs, HS codes, country of origin, product descriptions and values;
- Proactive tracking of shipments;
- Negotiating rates with logistic service providers/shipowners/brokers.
YOUR WORKPLACE
The Transport Department currently consists of 8 direct colleagues and several colleagues abroad. The team is mainly located in Rotterdam Headquarters but also Gorinchem and yard in Moerdijk. As a Transport Coordinator you are in close contact with the Ship Management Department, vessel crew and worldwide project members for all their logistical requests and needs.
About you
As a Transport Coordinator you are someone who shows ownership of the logistical process. You are a team player who is functioning well and accurate in a dynamic and sometimes hectic environment. To be successful in this role, we expect you to be proactive and self-starting with a customer-oriented attitude and organisational sensitivity. You have excellent communication and social skills and good command of the English languages, orally and in writing.
Furthermore you have:
- A completed mbo education in the direction of shipping, logistics or supply chain;
- At last 3 years of working experience in a similar logistical role, preferably with an international organisation;
- Knowledge of shipping terms, transport documents and organizing of both conventional and non-conventional transports;
- Knowledge of and experience in (de)mobilizing out of gauge shipments by (part-)charter of breakbulk vessel or semi-sub;
- Knowledge of Dutch customs legislation and regulations;
- Willingness to travel and visit (international) projects on an occasional basis.
