YOUR IMPACT
As a ESG Coordinator (Environment, Social, Governance) you are the focal point for sustainability within Area West Europe, liaising with Van Oord’s Rotterdam based Sustainability, Environmental Engineering and Compliance teams (amongst others, as required), developing and delivering UK and Ireland focused initiatives and liaising with UK and Ireland project teams. You will ensure that policies, procedures and templates for identifying, managing and monitoring ESG matters are up-to-date.
- You are responsible for internal and external reporting on ESG matters;
- You will provide ESG support to tenders;
- You will take part in sustainability related work groups such as the UK Environment Agency’s Sustainability Community of Practice;
- Your responsibility is to develop Area West Europe’s Social Value framework, which will involve initiatives at Corporate, Area and project levels, including corporate-social responsibility initiatives;
- You will annually update our Modern Slavery Statement and Modern Slavery Supplier Due Diligence report and annual review all other UK and Ireland specific policies (e.g. Equality and Diversity, Anti-Slavery, etc.) to ensure they reflect the current market, including the drafting of new policies as and when appropriate;
YOUR WORKPLACE
You will normally be based in our branch office located in West Sussex (Small Dole), however some home working can be considered.
ABOUT YOU
- You have at least 5 years’ experience in this or similar field;
- You are well organized and self-motivated, with the ability to plan your own time to deliver outcomes, including prioritizing actions;
- You are willing to work closely with various departments such as Area West Europe Commercial and QHSE, plus other teams and departments based within Van Oord’s Rotterdam head office;
- Current residency and right to work in the UK, preferably in the West Sussex area or a willingness to commute, together with eligibility to travel to and within the EU; the role will be based in Van Oord UK’s Small Dole office but will require visits to projects sites in the UK and Ireland, and occasional visits to Rotterdam. Some home working can be considered;
- A driving licence is required.
