THE POSITION

YOUR IMPACT


 As an Application Specialist, you extract valuable insights from internal and external data. You collect, structure, and process both structured and unstructured data to develop predictive models and algorithms. Through your expertise and innovative approach, you enable the organization to make data-driven decisions.

Your responsibilities

As an Application Specialist MS 365 at Van Oord, you will be responsible for analysing, advising, testing, and implementing new software versions and releases. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engaging with stakeholders to proactively assess business requirements and needs, providing professional guidance to translate these into requirements.
  • Software Management: Advising new software versions and releases in collaboration with the team.
  • Data Analysis: Analysing large datasets to identify trends and patterns.
  • Solution Development: Collaborating in cross-functional teams to deliver integrated and comprehensive solutions.
  • End-User Support: Providing end-user training and creating user documentation, including instructions and manuals to support the adoption of Dynamics 365 solutions and processes.
  • Data Validation: Validating data quality and automating data collection processes.
  • Predictive Modelling: Developing and integrating predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
  • Insight Presentation: Visualizing and presenting insights to stakeholders using advanced tools like Power BI and Tableau.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensuring compliance with data governance and security principles in all activities.

You will work closely with IT professionals and colleagues from various business units, supporting them in leveraging data-driven solutions.
 

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an Application Specialist who is communicative, analytical, proactive and result-driven. 

  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical or IT-related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience in data analysis, application management, or development.
  • You are communicative and advisory, with a strong sensitivity to organizational dynamics and focusing on delivering solution-oriented outcomes.
  • Strong skills in translating business requirements into functional and technical solutions, including the ability to develop sketches into digital products such as apps, forms, reports, and dashboards.
  • You enjoy interacting with and supporting colleagues, helping to drive collaboration and the adoption of changes in MS Dynamics 365.
  • You thrive as a sparring partner, contributing to the development and optimization of MS Dynamics 365 by aligning technology with business needs.
  • You have solid knowledge of Dynamics 365 CE and its applications.
  • Strong technical skills and experience with Microsoft products, specially including Azure, Power Query, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Dataverse with basic familiarity of Java Script, SQL, CRM SDK and CRM Plugins. 
  • Experience with ETL processes (Extract, Transform, Load) for data preparation and data modelling.
  • Ability to create impactful data visualizations to support business decision-making.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for data security and governance principles.
  • Experience with machine learning and developing solutions that incorporate data-driven insights.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
