Description & Requirements
THE POSITION
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented all-rounder to support our small, dynamic team working across the Code of Conduct, privacy, and data protection. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the Global Data Protection Officer and Privacy Counsel on various projects, contributing to the development and implementation of key initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include conducting research, drafting documentation, and preparing materials to support compliance and awareness efforts. We’re seeking a ‘completer-finisher’, someone who can independently take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion with minimal supervision. A friendly and persuasive communication style is essential, as you'll often engage with internal stakeholders and help bring them along the journey of privacy and data protection.
YOUR WORKPLACE
We offer a flexible working environment with a hybrid approach. While much of the work can be done remotely, we aim to come together in the office one day a week to collaborate and stay connected as a team. You’ll be joining a small, supportive department with a broad remit, spanning information security, data governance, administration, legal, and more.
This is a great opportunity to grow your expertise in privacy and data protection within a collegial and forward-thinking setting. Whether your background is in law, compliance, or data governance, you’ll find a space here to contribute meaningfully and develop your skills further.
YOUR IMPACT
As a working student, you’ll play an important role in supporting ongoing research, policy development, and legal analysis. Your work will directly contribute to improving internal processes and decision-making. You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Conduct internet-based research to gather insights and background information.
- Read, interpret, and analyze legal and policy documents.
- Draft and organize documents, reports, and summaries.
- Develop and maintain structured repositories and archives.
- Build spreadsheets to support data analysis and reporting.
- Analyze legal or policy-related data to support business cases or decisions.
- Coordinate and arrange meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct interviews with stakeholders as part of research or data collection efforts.
This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional environment, while actively contributing to real-world projects.
ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for a motivated and curious student who is eager to learn and contribute. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and analytical thinker who enjoys working in a structured and collaborative setting.
You are:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (WO level), preferably in your 3rd or 4th year in Business Administration, Data Management, Legal, Information Security or a related field
- Available for approximately 18 hours per week.
- Looking to start in September (or earlier)
- At least one day per week in the office
- Skilled in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), or a fast learner willing to get up to speed quickly.
- Proactive, organized, and able to work independently
WE OFFER
You will be working from our head office in Rotterdam with a view on the beautiful Maas. You can start or end your working day at our own gym in the office. Of course there is also a possibility to work from home, but we would like to see you at the office as much as possible!
