THE POSITION
As an Learning and Development (Junior) Advisor you will develop and provide expertise in L&D related topics across Van Oord and especially for the HR organization. You are able to identify our development opportunities and translating them into verifiable plans, supporting the team internal needs and being able to anticipate and respond to these needs, by designing and delivering efficient and effective solutions.
A part of your role as L&D Advisor is contributing to the design and implementation of the L&D Annual Plan, L&D policies and procedures, curricula and tools in order to develop the competences/talent that the organization needs.
Additionally, you will be responsible for various L&D initiatives internally and across the business, with a strong connection to the L&D Strategy. It is a broad role where you are deeply involved in operational aspects while also providing strategic support.
YOUR IMPACT
- Design and Implementation of Learning Programs: Lead or support the design, implementation, and facilitation of effective and innovative learning solutions (f2f, blended, online) that enhance employee skills, competencies, and support continuous development across all levels.
- L&D Strategy and Communication: Develop and execute L&D communication strategies in collaboration with HR partners to promote learning initiatives via internal platforms such as the Intranet and Learning Management System (LMS).
- Project & Program Management: Manage or contribute to L&D projects, academy catalogue updates, and process improvements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and business strategy.
- Quality Assurance & Evaluation: Monitor, assess, and report on the effectiveness and impact of training programs using feedback forms, performance metrics, and periodic evaluations, implementing improvements as needed.
- Collaboration and Support: Collaborate cross-functionally with departments like HR, finance, and operations; provide toolkits and guidance for internal facilitators; and support the L&D team with materials, technology updates, and administrative coordination.
YOUR WORKPLACE
The learning and development team is part of the Integrated Talent Management department within the HR organization. In the role of L&D advisor you will report to our Learning and Development Manager. Part of our Learning and Development team are Internal Trainers, Academy Officers and our Advisors. In total the team exist out of 12 colleagues.
ABOUT YOU
- A bachelor's degree, for example, in Education or Business Administration
- At least 1 year of work experience as an L&D professional, preferably in the business world, possibly supplemented with trainer experience
- Affinity and experience with online learning and Learning Management Systems, facilitation and instructional design is a plus
- Proficient in English, both spoken and written, Dutch is a plus
- Interest in the maritime sector is important, as you will also be involved in safety training and technical education
