The position
Van Oord has a wide array of roles, responsibilities and opportunities throughout the organisation. The tools and skills provided by our department are not only focused on creating clarity during performance reviews, but also allow both employees and managers to potential and development needs on a professional level.
In the position of talent management specialist, you focus on how to identify talent, develop talent and leadership and succession planning within Van Oord. All in alignment with the strategy of Van Oord and with the purpose to strengthen a future proof organisation. You will give input to the talent management strategy, translate this strategy into processes, programs and tools and implement these in cooperation with the HR Business team, Talent Acquisition and managers.
Your responsibilities
- Contribute to the annual talent development (TD) plan as a contribution to the HR annual plan;
- Contribute to the talent development policies, procedures and tools as a contribution to the talent development plan;
- Develop, in distanced supervision of the head of talent and learning and in cooperation with stakeholders company wide, reviews for talent identification, succession planning and performance review;
- Signal the talent management (TM) needs of the business and the strategical needs of the organization and discusses this with the head of talent and learning to create a plan and implement this;
- Develop and implement talent management programs and tools in order to strengthen a future proof organization and work on this subject in cooperation with HR Business and managers in the business. Instruct the academy support officers in the administrative and organizational follow up of the programs;
- Provide talent management analytics / dashboard and recommendations, based upon data in the HR systems;
- Advise supervisors, managers and HR Business on topics in the field of talent management;
- Professionalize and innovate talent management by staying up to date with the latest trends and introducing new insights and innovative talent management tools.
Your workplace
As a key member of talent development team, you will work closely with other HR colleagues within the HR organisation and various internal stakeholders in the business. We are looking for a team player with a proactive attitude. You are someone who dares to influence change, takes initiative to drive results, and creates a meaningful impact. You will report into the Head of Talent and Learning.
Job requirements
- A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in organizational psychology, human sciences, business administration, or similar to this);
- Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience, including at least 3 years in the field of talent management;
- A specialist who is able to give input for the talent management strategy of Van Oord, translates this into tangible processes and programs and implements these in cooperation with HR business team, talent acquisition and managers. Advices HR business and managers on talent management topics;
- Data driven mindset, with experience using analytics to measure and improve talent management initiatives;
- Proficiency in English, Dutch is a preference.
